In an effort to enhance its national identity and foster greater awareness, the national Senior Medicare Patrol Program has officially adopted a new program identity-SMP.
The SMP Program, funded by the U.S. Administration on Aging, is a national network of 58,000 trained volutneers and counselors in community-based projects to help older Americans avoid unintended errors and detect deliberate abuses in Medicare.
The Montana SMP is a program coordinated by Missoula Aging Services and partnered with local Area Agencies on Aging.
If you are interested in volunteering with SMP, please contact Melanie at 259.5212. Any work you do on behalf of the program, whether it be manning a health fair table, speaking to a gorup, showing a video or sitting down with someone to explain their bills is accomplishing the main goal of this program.
